I have been a professor in the Faculty of Social Work at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario for over 30 years teaching MSW and PhD students. My research and publications have focused upon: disability rights, social housing, the feminization of poverty, social inclusion and holistic healing. I have undertaken numerous community and national research studies funded by the federal and local governments. Prior to becoming an academic, I was a grassroots community organizer and social planner working with marginalized groups in Canada, the United States, and Great Britain. I am the Editor of our new book about holistic healing which includes contributions from over 30 expert contributors from a wide diversity of backgrounds.
